‘Person of Interest’ season 4 spoilers: Taraji P. Henson returning as Carter!
If you miss the early days of “Person of Interest,” then have no fear: You are at least going to get another glimpse into them courtesy of the return of Taraji P. Henson.
According to TV Guide, an upcoming season 4 episode is going to feature flashbacks to when Detective Carter was still on the force, and working hard to solve a case she never could figure out. We are going to see flashbacks to this time, while in the present Reese is going to do what he can to try to figure out how to solve the mystery. This is a good chance for the show to make use of the Carter character again, and this is a cool move on Taraji’s part to want to come back. She was told from the beginning of her role here that she would be killed off at some point, and it has been for best given her success on “Empire.”
Logistically, it may also make sense for Henson to do this part right now, given that she is going to be in New York City for at least the next week preparing for a hosting gig on “Saturday Night Live.” She may have some time either this week or next to film a few more scenes. “Empire” films the majority of its scenes in Chicago.
“Person of Interest” needs whatever bump in the ratings it can get. While we feel like it is most likely going to be returning with another season, it is still far too early to know for sure. CBS tends to announce a ton of renewals at once, and we’re somewhat surprised that this announcement has not already come out.
