‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6: Could Nina Dobrev leave at season’s end?

Is it possible that Nina Dobrev could really check out of “The Vampire Diaries” early? It’s not necessarily something that we think is happening for certain, but the rumor mill is definitely churning away at this one after the events of this weekend.

You don’t have to go far to see a variety of images on social media featuring Dobrev and her castmates having a party on a lake, and there were even some Instagram posts from some crew members (which were later taken down) suggesting that the party was specifically for Dobrev and her fellow cast member Michael Trevino. Dobrev’s birthday was months ago, and it wouldn’t be a wrap party if it was held for a couple of people. We’re certainly nervous about this, but we will wait for confirmation.

Now, the real question here is if Dobrev does indeed leave (it’s been rumored from the start of the season that some could depart), where does the show go from here? We’d understand if they wanted to move forward with something fronted more by the Salvatores or by Caroline. There are many actors and crew members who earn a living through the job, and if they want to continue, you should not penalize them because some actors want to do other things. It would just be a hard thing to pull off creatively. You’d almost need to take a completely new creative direction in order for it to make sense.

Note that this is not confirmed and while something may be going on for Dobrev, we’re going to have to wait for further confirmation to discuss further.
