‘Gotham’ spoilers: WonderCon scoop on season 2, Clayface, Gordon’s mustache

Today was a big day over at WonderCon in Anaheim, and quite a few folks from “Gotham” were present to help drop at least a few very welcome hints on what is going to be coming up even beyond this season. Present were Cory Michael Smith (Edward Nygma), Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot), Ben McKenzie (Jim Gordon), and executive producer John Stephens. Donal Logue was originally announced to be there, but was not present at the panel. Smith was a surprise replacement.

We are not going to tell you that there were a whole lot of huge surprises at the panel, but we did learn from Stephens that some classic Batman villains, including Clayface and the Mad Hatter, are going to be a part of the second season. Also, we will learn a good bit more about “Jerome” throughout the second season.

One of the funnier moments of the Q&A came when McKenzie joked that he has to “earn” the famous Jim Gordon mustache, which was popularized further by Gary Oldman during “The Dark Knight.” Smith joked that he not have become so twisted if Gordon actually thanked his character for a change, and the cast seemed to have a nice rapport among themselves.

There was a short video that was presented during the panel teasing the story ahead, but it is not online yet. Sometimes these videos are put up after a day or so, but they always like to give a little bit of exclusivity first and foremost to people who were present in person.
