‘Community’ season 6, episode 5 preview: Greendale meets prison; Abed’s Seinfeld impression
“Community” has been getting progressively better and better throughout the sixth season, and going into Tuesday night’s next new episode, we at least feel like we have a good reason for high expectations. Based on the new promo below, it looks like this story is going to be a whole lot of fun.
The focus for the episode revolves around one simple concept, and that is Greendale Community College striking a deal with a nearby prison to have inmates talk class on what are basically walking tablets. This is an idea that is similar in a way to that episode of “The Big Bang Theory” where Sheldon becomes so concerned with disease that he locks himself away in his bedroom and sends a virtual version of himself out there. The difference is that this is on a much grander scale, and about a hundred times funnier so far. Our favorite moment of the whole ordeal, at least right now, is the sight of a prison trying to kill Jeff Winger by ramming a computer screen against him time and time again.
There will be some other side stories in here as well, including one that leads to Abed doing a surprisingly impeccable impression of Seinfeld. This is most likely what happens when you end up watching the same show so many times. (Let’s face it: A good percentage of all of us have attempted this impression, some of us very badly, at some point in our lives.)
