‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 5, episode 20 preview: Grover’s struggle; Danny’s fear

Hawaii Five-0 -You’ve waited for a few weeks to see Friday night’s “Hawaii Five-0” episode, and it is just about here riding a wave of emotion. One of the reasons why this show has managed to deliver 25 episodes this season is because you are getting so many great character spotlights. While not every part of this episode will be about Grover, the sneak peeks below make it very clear that a case is going to take its toll on the Hawaii transplant as he starts to wonder how well he really knows his friends.

1. The calm before the storm – In this video, we basically get a chance to see Grover with his old friend Clay, talking about being in Hawaii, and his excitement that he was celebrating his 20th wedding anniversary. There’s a discussion about how they should spend the next few days, and this seems like completely normal dinner conversation. If it were not for what we knew was coming up in the subsequent video, we’d say that this was a useless sneak peek. In context, it hardly is.

2. The question – Did Clay really kill his wife? Grover wonders, while at the same time hating the thought that someone he cared about so much could be guilty of something like murder. He is mostly just worried because of the way that Clay talked about the scene after the fact; it contained so many similarities to past cases that he’s taken on that he is starting to worry. This is where the power of this episode comes from, and we start to become genuinely impressed with Chi McBride.

3. Elevator problems – And now for something completely different! As a side story in this episode, Dr. Shaw is going to help Danny after getting stuck in an elevator … with a dead body. Yes, this is going to be uncomfortable.
