‘The Last Ship’ season 2, ‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 6, ‘Falling Skies’ premiere dates announced by TNT
The regular TV season is coming to an end, and for many fans this is a sad occurrence, given that it means that many of your favorites are not going to be on the air any longer. Is there anything that we can say to help ease the pain a little bit? How about an announcement on some summer premiere dates! Many of your old favorites on TNT are going to be back before you know it, and hopefully bringing a wide array of surprises and big-time developments to the table.
Let’s start here with the network’s highest-rated show in “Rizzoli & Isles.” You will get a chance to see Angie Harmon, Sasha Alexander, and the rest of the cast back on June 16 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, which will lead directly into “Proof,” the new series starring Jennifer Beals and Joe Morton, who you know very well for his Emmy-winning turn as Papa Pope on “Scandal.” This is the sort of lead-in that almost any new show should hope for. In the early going, you can at least count on “Proof” having a wide array of support.
As for some of the network’s other popular series, “Major Crimes” will premiere season 4 on June 8, and it will be followed up by the return of fellow drama “Murder in the First.” As for the Sunday series, “The Last Ship” is going to be starting on June 21 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern; meanwhile, the fifth and final season of “Falling Skies” is going to come on the air a week later on June 28.
Of the roster, it’s hard to pin down which of these June premieres we are the most excited to see. We’d say that “Rizzoli & Isles” is the most consistently great; “Falling Skies” has reached higher highs, but also has hit lower lows. Meanwhile, we’re still so early into “The Last Ship” to really know what its true legacy is going to be.
