‘Big Brother Canada 3’ interview: Sindy Nguyen on Jordan Parhar, snubs, and alliances
Sindy “with an S” Nguyen certainly made a name for herself during her time in the “Big Brother Canada” house. The fact that she ultimately had her own catchphrase is pretty great proof of that. She was outspoken and incredibly competitive throughout her time in the house, and in a way, this may have been what led ultimately to her downfall. Sometimes, you can come out of the gate being way too big a character, and that can lead to you getting into some big trouble.
Today, we had a chance to speak with Sindy in a conference call about some topics related to her time in the game. Remember here that due to the twist, she is in sequester, and we could only ask three questions that would not give away anything that is happening in the game beyond her knowledge.
CarterMatt – Is there anyone you wish you had aligned with, but didn’t?
Here’s just a little bit of background on that house. Everyone is so polite. They are literally some of the nicest people, which could be because they’re Canadians and Canadians are nice. It’s very hard for anyone to align themselves with anybody, because everyone was so scared to step on everyone’s toes because they were so scared that they were a target and wanted to look like they had no game.
What I wish I would have done was secure an alliance with Naeha, Sarah, Bruno, and Graig, and then after what happened with Jordan I would have wanted him to be a part of that. Those were the people I wanted to align myself with before leaving the house. Going back into the house, of course I wouldn’t want to work with Graig.
Since you bring up Jordan, how much of getting close to Jordan was strategy, and how much came out of real interest?
I kind of have a big crush on Jordan. None of it was strategy. Every time Jordan and I talked it was always personal, never game. He’s the only person who got to know me and my family, my work life, my personal life. He was always a good listener, and remembered everything that I said. I tried to forget how young he is, since he is four years younger than me, but he’s so mature for his age, so cute and so quirky and he has a great personality. He’s so cute and so genuine. I was very, very happy to have Jordan be the last person that I saw before leaving. He gave me my bag, kissed me goodbye, and who knows? If I get back in the house and he hasn’t gotten over me, maybe we can continue where we left off.
Why did you snub Graig specifically when you left?
Although it was Graig and Godfrey who accused me of [breaking] the camera in the house, my relationship with Graig started off positive and went downhill, and went downhill even further with that [incident] in the HoH room. At least with Godfrey he apologized to me; he knew about my history with bullying, I had a whole Facebook hate group in high school, so he understand what I had dealt with and said ‘I’m sorry if I came at you like I was a bully, I didn’t mean to,’ and he was genuine about it and I accepted his apology.
Graig, however, not once apologized to me. He had the audacity to continue to accuse me of breaking the camera, and said that I might as well confess. He never apologized. Even when Arisa dropped the ball and said it was an April Fools’ joke and everyone laughed, he had the great opportunity on national TV to apologize and he didn’t. He gave me like a half-hug and a ‘sorry Sindy’ under his tongue. So I’m not going to touch you or hug you on my last day if you could have mended things before I left and you chose not to.
I hope me snubbing him made [my feeling] clear to the house and to the rest of the country, I hope the rest of the house took that and [look] at who they should associate themselves with and listen to the rest of the game. Hopefully they will target him next.
