‘Big Brother Canada 3’ review: An eviction, a Head of Household, and a prank
Tonight’s “Big Brother Canada 3” episode had a mighty task before it: Trying to make the first half-hour interesting, mostly because it was incredibly clear as to what was going to happen: Sindy was heading home, and it was not going to be a close vote.
This was a unique situation for her, mostly in that there was absolutely nothing that could have been done to change what happened here. All of the damage was already done, and we had someone in Brittnee who was such a non-factor the past few days on the block. She at least took it well, and got a little chummy with Jordan in the end! We’re not sure where in the world this came from, but it was rather funny to see the two bond so much almost at random. We are still unsure what the twist is going to be (our guess is a competition), but for the time being, we feel like she has a good shot at winning and coming back into the house. She has already proven herself to be a major challenge threat and she’s already beaten Risha.
Now, let’s move on to the Head of Household Competition, which for a while seemed like Naeha and Godfrey were going to make it to the end almost by either winning / not getting a question wrong throughout. Naeha in particular put up a huge fight despite being the obvious target, but couldn’t quite finish the job against Ashleigh. She was fairly dominant herself, until losing the last question and letting Kevin take power as Head of Household! We’re not entirely sure he really wanted it, and just wanted to put on a good face until the very end before seeing it slip through his fingertips.
The biggest faux pas of the episode was that elaborate “prank” involving the camera, which has tormented feed viewers for the past day and a half. We feel like this was mostly just a way to get back at the houseguests for wrecking stuff, while doing so in the guise of it being April Fools’ Day. There was some entertainment that came out of this, but of course, it would’ve been so much more fun if this was a whodunnit sort of mystery that lasted through the season.
Overall, a boring eviction and a predictable Head of Household winner (Naeha saw the odds stacked against her) make this episode a little ho-hum. Here’s to hoping that this could still be a crazy week. Grade: C+.
