Is ‘Criminal Minds’ season 10, episode 19 new tonight? The ‘Beyond Borders’ process
We are about to get into the homestretch of “Criminal Minds” season 10, but there is unfortunately two important key words that you have to remember here: “About to.” We’re not at the homestretch yet, and we will not be for one more week from tonight. After all, tonight, there is no new episode airing on CBS. The reason why is fairly simple in that the network is airing the second part of their two-part miniseries “The Dovekeepers,” which premiered on Tuesday to disappointing numbers. This was a good week for the network to make the move, given that they want to ensure that they allow “Criminal Minds” to air many consecutive episodes leading in the finale.
When the show does return next week with “Beyond Borders,” you are going to get an hour of TV like no other. How else do you explain a backdoor pilot all about a special division of the FBI, whose sole mission and responsibility is solving international crimes regarding American citizens around the world? These people are there to help.
What we thought we’d do in this article is give you a list of three things to expect from this episode, and what the pickup process is like for those of you new to reading about the TV business.
1. Gary Sinise of “CSI: NY” is the lead of the show, but don’t discount Tyler James Williams coming off of his role as Noah on “The Walking Dead.”
2. If this show is picked up, don’t expect frequent interactions between this new division and the BAU. They may do a crossover once a season or so, but more than that is very unlikely. Each show needs it own identity.
3. CBS will look at ratings and viewer / critic reaction to the episode before making a decision. We fully expect it to have its fate announced by the upfronts in May. There is promise here since there is not another crime show quite like this, but they may be wary after the failure of “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior.”

criminal minds suspect behavior is a terrible show, none of the characters are appealing, forrest whittaker is seriously either miscast or can’t act and the storylines are not good at all. i look forward to gary sinese in this new show and hope it is as good as the original criminal minds which i watch over and over.

Why has CBS not shown a preview for this episode yet? I can’t wait to see Gary Sinise in action again.

I loved suspect behavior. CBS pulled it too soon, I hate when they do that. All the networks do it, except cable channels like AMC, FX, HBO etc. Heaven forbid we don’t fall into their ridiculous demographic. It’s us older people who are at home ready, willing and foaming at the mouth waiting for our shows. We each freak out when they are preempted for yet another special or something worse.

Criminal minds was once again bumped due to another dumb show tonight!!!! This is getting to be complete BS!!!! I live for this show, get so excited to see the new episodes only to turn on the TV and see “The Dovekeepers” on instead. 2 weeks ago it was “Survivor” and a couple weeks before that was “CMA” or something like it globe whatever red carpet BS. 7 days in a week and its Wednesday night that these shows “Must be played and 1 decent show gets bumped” WTH, CBS ???????

Great. We have that brain dead, boring a-hole from Walking Dead and the uber PC storyline of “bad Americans” terrorizing the “poor, innocent victims of the world”. I gave up politically correct garbage on mainstream TV long ago. Looks like nothings changed.

I agree, I didn’t like the guy when he was on dead either. There are plenty of other actors out there that are much better.

Suspect Behavior failed for one simple reason: The cast just couldn’t touch the comradery, both on and off the set, that we’ve come to know and love in the original cast.
The new show *might* work, IF the cast and crew can pull off the easygoing but deep friendships that have developed in the original show. It’s a big pair of shoes to fill, with beloved characters that just can’t be replicated, and just like Criminal Minds was a little stiff in the beginning, it’ll take a while for the new show to find its stride.
As a long time fan, I’ll watch for Penelope Garcia’s appearances, but I hope her personality gets a chance to shine through, and that the show is able to find its own rhythm.
