‘Talking Dead’ spoilers: Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, and Scott M. Gimple set for finale

Talking Dead -Given that tonight is the finale for “Talking Dead,” you had to expect some big names stopping by to talk to Chris Hardwick, right? Not only are you going to get a chance to see the likes of Norman Reedus a.k.a. Daryl Dixon, but he will be joined by the wonderful Melissa McBride and you know she will have a lot to say. McBride has transformed Carol into someone spectacular, and someone we would argue may actually be “The Walking Dead’s” finest character. If you would have told us this when Sophia was coming out of that barn, we would have laughed at you and probably abandoned you back at Hershel’s farm at the end of season 2. It’s been all a product of her work, and the writers finding so much inspiration with it to give her some of the most gut wrenching and terrifying storylines.

Also joining these two for the finale is executive producer Scott M. Gimple, who has done a good job the past two seasons of keeping the ship afloat. When you look back at the creative turmoil during the first three years, we weren’t quite sure that keeping this show strong was possible since there were so many cooks in the kitchen with their own ideas of how to get things done.

“Talking Dead” tonight, rumor has it, may also give you a preview for “Fear the Walking Dead,” the new spin-off show at AMC launching this summer. We still hate the name since it’s way too close to the original product and it needs a chance to breathe on it’s own, but we’ll give the show itself a chance. There’s no word on if we are getting a “Talking Fear” / “Fear the Talking Dead” aftershow, but we doubt it. Chris Hardwick has to tour at some point, and he also has “@midnight” to keep him busy in the interim.

Just in case you didn’t see it last night, we broke down which characters on “The Walking Dead” have the best chances of living, and which have the best chances of getting eaten by a zombie. Head over here for more on that, and we’ll have some more robust coverage all day long leading to the 90-minute conclusion.
