‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4, episode 16 preview: Does Regina betray Henry?

If there is one thing that Regina on “Once Upon a Time” has tried to stress to Henry on a number of occasions now, it is this: She is doing everything that she can to prove that she is not into being a horrible person anymore and constantly betraying him.

Is that really true? Well, based on the sneak peek below, there is reason to have doubt. In this preview we have a tense standoff between mother and adopted son over a page from the book, one that Regina needs alongside Maleficent and Cruella de Vil. They followed her into the room to get it from Henry, mostly because they did not think that she had the gall to actually go through with this herself in their search to find the Author and change the endings to their story.

Henry eventually relents, but we still feel like there is something far more substantial going on here. For one, we find the whole notion of him not making some sort of copy of this, or him not being in on the plan, completely fishy. We feel like the show is interested in making you worried about the fate of at least one other person on the show, but it is not Henry. Instead, we are speaking a little bit more here about Emma. We’ve heard the prophecies now, and how is she going to react to learning from her own mother about what she did to Maleficent’s baby? This is more than likely not going to end well.

Maybe we’ll have some answers by the end of this episode … but ultimately, time is going to tell.
