‘Criminal Minds’ season 10 spoilers: Ed Asner appears in big Hotch episode
Ed Asner really seems to be almost everywhere these days, which is really quite stupendous for an actor who turned 85 a few months ago. He has guest-starred in such shows as “Royal Pains,” “The Good Wife,” “The Glades,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Hot In Cleveland,” “Mom,” and “Chasing Life.”Clearly, he has done everything from comedy to drama in the span of a few years. He also has that first few minutes of “Up,” which make us sob almost every time we watch it.
For the upcoming April 12 episode of “Criminal Minds,” you are going to get a chance to see Asner on board this show as Roy, the father of Hotch’s late wife Haley. Suffice it to say that the two have a pretty contentious relationship. Given what happened to Haley, it would not come as a surprise to learn that this man blames his son-in-law for it, and they do not speak particularly often.
We don’t want to read too much into the story, though, based on our own assumptions. Instead, let’s just go ahead and share the official synopsis for “A Place at the Table” below.
“When a Maryland family is found murdered at their dining room table, the team tracks down other family members and friends to uncover secrets that may have led to it. Also, Hotch must try to make peace with his father-in-law, Roy, after discovering he’s been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.”
Ultimately, we imagine that this episode is going to make you pretty emotional, given that you have so much going on in here that may be defined as difficult to watch. With that being said, we do still appreciate that it is a very different story than we’ve seen lately; as you read in our most-recent review, one of the problems with the show as of late is that not much has happened.

I’m always excited to see a storyline that features Hotch. Thomas Gibson is a wonderful actor, and he’s at his best when he gets to show all the emotions his character keeps in check.
