‘Black Sails’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Rome,’ ‘Dexter’ alum to play Blackbeard
While there may not be that much known about the upcoming third season of “Black Sails” on Starz (save for the fact that there will be one), we do come bearing what is some otherwise very good news: We are going to meet quite the famed pirate when the show returns!
According to IGN, actor Ray Stevenson of “Rome,” “Dexter,” “Thor,” and many other projects is going to be coming aboard the show as Blackbeard, and will have a very important part to play in the proceedings. Obviously, we are already very much excited to see what the show does with this character. They are well-known already for putting a darker interpretation on pirate lore and giving you a sense of what this life was really like at times. Therefore, you have to assume that what they are going to have for you in this particular episode is going to be especially intense.
While this show has never been a smash hit when it comes to the ratings, it does have a loyal following that has continued to sick with it, and will most likely continue to do so. Going into season 3, one other particular element of this show that could be useful to remember is the success of “Outlander.” While on the surface it may appear like a non-factor, remember here that it will be a nice promotional platform in many ways before and after the show. Any way to drive extra attention to the product is something that should be celebrated.
We’ll have some further news as it starts to come out, so stay tuned for more on that subject.
