‘Survivor: Worlds Apart’ rankings: Is Tyler Fredrickson, Mike Holloway, Joe Anglim leading new Escameca?
It’s a good thing we studied those tribe names at the start of “Survivor: Worlds Apart,” given that we are now starting to put them to good use. The Escameca tribe used to be the Blue Collar tribe, and they still have many of their members. While there are technically four of them in this group, they don’t exactly seem warm and chummy … and this could make things interesting depending on what happens Wednesday.
The real impact word of the above paragraph is “could,” mostly because the following rankings and dynamics could be rendered useless. Pending a non-physical challenge or this team deciding to throw it, they are so much stronger than Nagarote that it is not even funny. Still, we’ve set our picks here just in case a shocker happens, and are basing them as always on strategy, edit, challenge ability, and social game. (Click here to see our Nagarote rankings!)
7. Rodney LaVoie Jr. – Rodney’s biggest problem is Rodney. He argues, he has controversial opinions, and he will talk his way out of almost any situation that he can. The guy may have a big personality, but he’s just not very good at this game.
6. Sierra Dawn Thomas – Here’s what is interesting about this. You have Dan / Mike / Rodney on one side, and then Tyler / Joaquin / Joe seemingly on the other. We’ve seen many situations like this before, and sometimes, the person who is flip-flopping in the middle tends to be in trouble. Think Dolly in “Vanuatu,” or even to an extent Sarah in “Cagayan.” As we said earlier, we don’t think this tribe is losing anytime before the merge.
5. Dan Foley – We’re not altogether convinced that Dan is even close to being great at the game, based mostly on his apology strategy here. Why in your right mind would you act like he does around Sierra? While he will probably make the merge, this is not a guy that will get more than maybe Mike’s jury vote at the end.
4. Joe Anglim – If this group were smart, and secure in their alliances, they should consider taking Joe out. After all, do you really want him rejoining No Collar at the merge, who still has three other members? He’s a nice guy, a physical threat, and seems more than capable of winning this game at the end.
3. Joaquin Souberbielle – Joaquin’s greatest strength right now is stumbling into situations where he never the #1 target. On the White Collar tribe, it was So at first, and he avoided tribal council long enough for Max and Shirin to take some heat. Now, everyone’s getting tired of Rodney and his antics. He has yet to show too many flashes of brilliance, but he may have another couple weeks left in it.
2. Mike Holloway – The crazy thing for Mike is that he is somehow now in a great spot, mostly because he is nobody’s target for at least the next three days. If he can stop barking orders around after a merge, he may be protected well enough with more obvious targets to make a good run.
1. Tyler Fredrickson – Tyler is just a great player, based on what we’ve said. Have you ever seen him put himself in harm’s way? He doesn’t do that, mostly because he knows better. He is really great at going with the flow, not ticking anyone off, and working people like he is now with Sierra. This guy may go all the way to the final five before anyone even realizes just how good he is.
