‘Madam Secretary’ episode 18 preview: ‘The Time is at Hand’ hints at hostage situation

Madam Secretary -Tonight, “Madam Secretary” aired an episode entitled “Face the Nation” that we found, at least in some bizarre way, to be rather fun. We always enjoy the drama that comes with putting a fictional character on a real-life TV show, and seeing Elizabeth McCord face off against Bob Schieffer was rather thrilling to watch.

So where is the story going to go now? We turn to “The Time is at Hand,” an episode that is really going to spend more time playing up some of the dramatic angle when it aired next week. After all, we have a crisis situation, and given that you are dealing with both cultish behavior and it being in a different country, this is not going to be a cakewalk situation for Elizabeth to handle.

For a little more scoop right now when it comes to that, take a look at the official synopsis below:

“While Elizabeth seeks a diplomatic solution to a doomsday cult in Bolivia, a congressman attempting to negotiate with its leader is taken hostage. Meanwhile, Elizabeth and Henry meet Stevie’s much older boyfriend.”

After everything that Elizabeth goes through dealing with the international crisis, how is she going to be able to deal with what is going on at home? We imagine that it is this dichotomy that in many ways makes this story so interesting. She is never going to be able to keep an equal balance, but still trying to find a way to deal with home matters may help to keep her human.
