‘Mad Men’ season 7: Jon Hamm believes gratitude will be long-lasting
While there may not be a new episode of “Mad Men” for another two weeks, this is the time for us to start to be a little bit reflective on what has been a wonderful past eight or nine years for the show. We’ve seen Don Draper try to mature, be married, divorced, married, and quite possibly divorced again. He’s not always the most likable character in the history of television, but he may be one of the most intriguing. That is one of the reasons why we enjoy watching him so.
Jon Hamm has seen his entire career change as a result of this show. Why? He was more of a journeyman actor before the show, doing guest spots here and there with only a few lines. Now, he is a capable leading man, and he already has used the show to prove that he can do comedies and a variety of other things.
Suffice it to say, Hamm is a very grateful man for everything he’s experienced as a result of this show. Just take a look at what the actor had to say to CBS This Morning in a new interview:
“I think I’ll still be very grateful … These don’t come along that often for anybody. You’re lucky if you get one! And I’ve fortunately happened to be at the right place, in the right time, with the right character and the right guy writing it. I think about it every day, and I’m thankful for it every day.”
We know that Hamm has some more movie work coming up, but we do really hope that he gets to be a lead in a comedy series someday. With every comedy he appears on, he happens to routinely steal the show.
