‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 finale spoilers: Michael Cudlitz on longer episode
What we have for you now is a fairly generic (but still very nice) teaser preview from someone who has seen these characters very much evolve over the past year in Michael Cudlitz. What does he have to say about this finale? Speaking per Yahoo, he explains that giving the show an extra half an hour to explain itself further beyond just getting to see some shocking situations unfold. This will allow for a chance for some greater character development, which in turn for us means something more to cling to and be prepared to see in the future:
“I love that they’ve given them the extra time, because it means that they’re able to let some of these scenes breathe, ones that sometimes we don’t have that opportunity to, because the show is so action-packed and so full of story points. I think that that extra time we’re going to have is going to be wonderful for character development, because I know some of the scenes that potentially would not have made it in had they had to keep it at an hour, and there’s some wonderful lyrical moments in the show. It’s going to be very satisfying. It’s going to piss you off. There will be tears, but also, once again, like the writers have been doing pretty consistently, it tees up a new beginning in a very, very different way.”
Specifically, what we want to see for Abraham is a chance to find himself yet another mission to commit to … and hopefully, a way to forgive Eugene at some point down the road. That is not going to be easy, but their dynamic not long after their introduction proved to be one of our favorite parts of the show.
