NBC’s ‘The Voice’ preview: Matt McAndrew, Chris Jamison return for pre-knockout fun
While NBC has not released any lengthy previews yet for Monday night’s knockout rounds on “The Voice,” they have given us something that is quite a gift in its own right: The return of Matt McAndrew and Chris Jamison as they “grill” some of the contestants. Who knew that these two guys could potentially someday star in the own buddy-cop video series? There are some really funny moments in here, whether they are intentional or unintentional. (There’s specifically one comment in here when it comes to food, we’re not going to say what, that we are surprised made it past the censors and the editors. Maybe we just have a dirty mind.)
This video specifically features the majority of the contestants currently on Team Adam, with the exception of a few changes following the Battle Rounds. There’s not too much in the way of must-know information here, but there are plenty of funny revelations. For example, have you ever dumped a few Oreos in milk, let them sit there for a bit, and then tried to eat them like cereal? Based on one suggestion, we almost want to now.
In particular, we also love how Jamison and McAndrew’s interview style here is almost reflective of Stephen Colbert during the old “Better Know a District” segments on “The Colbert Report,” asking contestants to pick and choose between two different things and then after they do, asking what they have against the other choice.
Hopefully we’re going to get more actual performances from Chris and Matt during the season; for now, we are just happy that the show is continuing to keep them around in some capacity. This is something we have been at times critical of with this show over the years.
