‘The Flash’ spoilers: Doug Jones to bring Deathbolt over; also, episode title news!

“The Flash” really seems to love episodes with the word “rogue” in the title … or at least they do enough to put four of them in the season.

The introduction to Captain Cold this season was “Going Rogue,” whereas the introduction to Heat Wave was ultimately entitled “Revenge of the Rouges.” Meanwhile, “Rogue Time” with these two and Lisa Snart a.k.a. the Golden Glider is coming Tuesday, and we have now learned that the penultimate episode of the season is entitled “Rogue Air.” This was confirmed by none other than Doug Jones of “Hellboy” and “Falling Skies” fame, who will be guest-starring as the villain Deathbolt. This is the same character he is planning on an episode of “Arrow” earlier this season. All of this news was confirmed by Jones himself in a post on Facebook.

Given the history of this title, we are left to wonder if this episode will also bring back Wentworth Miller as Cold, especially given that we know he has a huge role in the upcoming superhero team-up pilot. If so, we are a little surprised that the show is dipping back into this well so late in the season. While Cold has been a fun villain, it feels like the true Big Bad is the Reverse Flash. Maybe he and Harrison Wells / Eobard Thawne are going to be involved in doing some crazy stuff in this episode.

Ultimately, we’ll just try to have faith that the folks behind the scenes of the show know very well what they are doing. So far, they have hardly disappointed with some of their surprises, including that uber-awesome episode “Out of Time” earlier this week.
