‘Longmire’ season 4: Katee Sackhoff arrives in New Mexico; anticipation builds
If you adore “Longmire,” you really have to be starting to get excited now. We are mere days away from season 4 officially starting up! Early next week, things will really start to heat up a little more, and this is hopefully going to mean that we will have so much more scoop to share from the cast and crew on set.
This brings us today to Katee Sackhoff, who was kind enough to reveal her own arrival to Santa Fe on Twitter this week. At this point, the majority of the cast members with social-media accounts have confirmed that they are there, and we have heard the same thing for many others. The family is back together! What probably makes this even more delightful for those working on the series is that for a long time, this was hardly a sure thing that there was even going to be a fourth season to begin with. We had to wait for Netflix to pick up the show.
Now that we have, there is a newfound sense of optimism. While we cannot see the streaming provider making a huge push to completely alter the show, the new format could allow the show to play around with some different things, such us potentially making it even more serialized or at least having more flexibility in terms of episode lengths. When you look at most other Netflix dramas, you tend to get at least a few more minutes of content than your standard TV / cable show.
As for Sackhoff’s Vic, part of the fun for her this season will be seeing the aftermath of the personal crossroads she found herself in last year.

I’m glad Longmire was picked up by Netflix. Never understood why A&E canceled show. It always had strong ratings and a devoted fan base.

So happy Longmire was picked up by Netflix and they start filming on the March 23rd. Looking forward to season 4 in the fall. Disappointed you only made a mention of Katee and her one short tweet. She was one of the last to arrive. She promotes Longmire the least of the all cast. You should be promoting the others instead. Robert, the true star of the show, has been in Santa Fe for over a week already and he and Lou already made an appearance with Craig Johnson at the Tucson Festival of Books to promote Longmire. Adam Bartley has already been posting pictures of preparations before filming starts.

We have been looking for Longmire to return and didn’t realize it was cancelled. Glad to hear Netflix sees the potential. It’s the first western type crime drama on tv in a long time and we love it. Taylor is perfect in the Longmire role and the proximity to the rez and Phillips role makes it all the more intriguing! Netflix, thank you!

Longmire – unlike the endless parade of “cookie cutter” crime dramas on TV the characters are interesting, the writing compelling and the setting is beautiful. I’m not a big fan of the Netflix programing model, but I am grateful to the company for picking up the show.

I didn’t realize that Netflix did eventually pick this up but I am really excited about it. I thought it was one of the better shows on tv.
