‘Once Upon A Time’ season 2, episode 6 review: Is there a connection between Emma and Hook?
Last time on “Once Upon A Time” we learned that Hook wants revenge on Rumpelstiltskin for killing the woman that he loves and taking his hand, but is he going to be able to get to Storybrooke to exact his revenge?
Who is Neal?: So we learned a bit about Emma tonight – she has done some shady things in her past that involved jacking cars, but it is also how she ended up meeting Neal, getting her yellow bug and meeting the father of Henry. Neal was her first love and he gave her promises of a future, but his crimes are following him. He decides to flee to Canada, but he won’t bring her because he doesn’t want to implicate her further, but she instead hatches a plan to steal watches that Neal is on the hook for… that way they can fence them and start the life they wanted together. She gets the watches without any trouble and gives them to Neal, but he runs into August who tries to convince Neal to leave her. Words are not enough to convince Neal, but after August shows him something in a box, Neal knows what he has to do. Neal turns Emma in over the watches and she’s arrested as he takes off – leaving her to her destiny in Storybrooke. Neal sells the watches and gives the money and the car to August to give to Emma when she gets out of jail.
Enchanted forest: Hook has brought the ladies to the bean stalk to climb up and get the compass from the giant but he can only climb with one other, and Emma is the lucky girl to go. When they get to the top they hatch their plan to get the compass: They wake the giant, then hit him with a sleeping powder that Mulan gave them, so they can go and steal the compass. After some trouble finding it and the giant waking up, they are able to get the compass. Emma still doesn’t trust Hook and she leaves him handcuffed in the giant’s palace as she takes off with the compass.
The chemistry between Hook and Emma is undeniable, there is an instant connection between them and we have to say that we are really excited to see where this goes. Also seeing Jorge Garcia from “Lost” as the giant was a nice surprise! Episode grade: B
