‘The X Factor’ New Zealand names new judges after Natalia Kills – Willy Moon fiasco

The latest news -Clearly, this past week has been the most headline-grabbing for “The X Factor” New Zealand in the history of its run. It all stemmed from comments that Natalie Kills and Willy Moon made about contestant Joe Irvine in a recent episode, accusing him of being everything from “disgusting” to a direct copy of her husband. The show’s parent company eventually fired the two parties, and we know who is being put into their place on the panel.

Ultimately, the new judges are Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Shelton Woolright of I Am Giant, which basically means that the show has put in two judges we’ve never heard of in the place of two other judges we’d never heard of before this week.

Also, Kills made a new statement on her Twitter account acknowledging what happened, and it was not exactly a full apology. We get what she is getting at here in saying that she “was encouraged to be outspoken.” “The X Factor” is a TV show, and obviously she never would have been hired had the producers not wanted things to get out of control. We personally believe that had there not been a viral campaign to fire her, she’d probably still have that job right now. For TV personalities, the thing that they have to figure out is what the fine line is between doing too much, and giving the producers what they want. She crossed it, and that is why she has to bear some responsibility even if she was to a certain extent egged on in the process.

At the end of the day, we certainly expect this series to now fade back into obscurity to everyone who does not live in the country. This is, after all, the way it was before.
