‘The Flash’ / ‘Arrow’ spin-off spoilers: Prepare to wait on Caity Lotz mystery

At the moment, we know one thing with great confidence: “Arrow” and “The Flash” have a spin-off, which is being developed right now to premiere at around midseason. However, this is unfortunately just about everything we know at the moment save for that the cast includes Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, and Caity Lotz.

Who in the world is Lotz actually playing? That is the ultimate burning question many have, given that Sara is dead, and it does not appear as though that is going to be changing anytime soon. Speaking per TVLine, executive producer Marc Guggenheim explained that the two shows in the network’s DC superhero canon are not exactly going to be rushing along answers to these questions. They are more content letting things play out as time passes:

“We definitely noticed that people have been asking those questions and we’re glad. And we kind of want them to ask those questions a little longer … I would say that by May you’ll know the answers to those questions, but we’re going to keep those cards a little close to our vests for a while.”

Sure, there is a small part of us that would be happy to see Sara Lance back, if for no other reason than the action sequences. However, the more you bring back characters from the dead, the more troublesome it is to believe anything. We’d much rather see Lotz play a different character this time around, but someone who is equally awesome and can show off some other sides of her talent.
