‘The Good Wife’ season 6 spoilers: Is the journey coming to an end soon?
CBS has managed to land a real hit with “The Good Wife.” The show has won Emmys, developed an immense following, and created one of the greatest characters in all of television in Alicia Florrick. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and the reality here is that some things do end up concluding sooner rather than later. This could really happen with this show, given that the ratings have been very low as of late. Do we think that critical acclaim helps the series? Sure, but we do have to start thinking like the show will be wrapping up soon.
Luckily, it appears as though the show’s creative force behind the scenes is thinking in a similar way. Speaking to E! News, co-creator Robert King makes it clear that seven seasons is still the plan for them, but of course they have to wait and see if CBS allows them the chance to make another batch:
“The original idea we had was seven seasons…that is still our thinking, but obviously, we don’t want to step on CBS’ toes … Personally, our excitement is to write that way, but we haven’t had that conversation yet.”
Even if you don’t get a full 22-episode finale season, one of 13 installments should do the trick. The network has already shown repeatedly a desire to stick with the series despite lower ratings. Why deviate from that now? It’s different giving a serialized show the ending it deserves versus a procedural; if you thought that ending to “CSI: Miami” was bad, wait until you see the reaction to this show if things do not go according to plan.
Do you think that season 7 should be the last, or do you think it’s possible that the show would be better off ending sooner? Never missed a show until this season. I quit watching during the “Cary goes to jail” plot nonsense. How did they manage to get so far from what made the show so compelling? Done and done.

It may as well end now…I have been grieving the loss of this show for some time now. Hard to imagine the can turn it around without the original ensemble cast
