NBC’s ‘The Voice’ review: Jacob Rummell, Corey Kent White, Sawyer Fredericks close battle rounds

Voice -Tonight, the battle rounds on “The Voice” came to an end, and depending on who you are, this may or may not be a good thing. Personally, we’re just happy to be getting ever closer to the start of the live shows, even if we still do have to get through the knockout rounds in order to be there.

On tonight’s show, we had a very predictable final steal of the round, given that the show never learns when it comes to saving it to the very end. Also, we had one of the best battles that we’ve seen all season, mostly because Sawyer and Noelle were so kind and had such generosity with how they handled their performance together.

Jeremy Gaynor vs. Rob Taylor, “Animals” (Christina Aguilera) – Bizarre choice given the two artists here. We would’ve actually favored Jeremy going into this, given his background and his vocal diversity. Still, Rob has something about him that is infectious. Maybe this is what got him the win more than anything else. Rob wins, and no steal.

Sawyer Fredericks vs. Noelle Bybee, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” (Pharrell Williams) – We knew that this was a wonderful performance based on the previews, and Sawyer is someone truly remarkable at what he does. The bummer here is that there was no coach available to even steal Noelle. Sawyer wins, and no steal.

Jacob Rummell vs. Corey Kent White (Team Blake) – It’s always nice to have a surprise at the end … but we didn’t have one here. Corey wins, and Jacob is stolen by Pharrell.
