‘Bates Motel’ season 3, episode 3 preview: Is Emma coming between Norman, Norma Bates?

Typically, the notion of Norman Bates getting closer to someone who is not his mother would in most cases be considered a good thing … if he was not Norman Bates, that is. This is a guy who has already shown time and time again to have some serious issues (as in he kills people), and that is not going to be changing anytime soon moving into next week’s “Bates Motel.”

This next new episode is entitled “Persuasion,” and we have the official synopsis below via SpoilerTV. Let’s just say that this does not exactly do a good job of giving everything away: “Norman’s relationship with Emma weakens his bond with Norma; Romero asks Norman some hard questions.” Does that mean so many more problems for Norman? Probably, since Romero has shown time and time again that he is watching Freddie Highmore’s character after what happened to Miss Watson.

At this point, we are worried for almost everyone, whether it be Emma, Norma, Dylan, Romero, or anyone else. The only person we are not anticipated being in immediate danger is Norman, mostly because we know about his endgame already. That is what makes this show so interesting; you have a fascination with watching a story play out, even if you have a decent idea already as to how it ends already.

Of course, who knows? Maybe there are still a few opportunities for the show to give us some twists and turns, and deliver something that we don’t see coming a mile away.

What do you want to see on this particular “Bates Motel” episode next week, and do you think that Romero is going to get himself killed using all of these questions? Share with a comment.
