‘So You Think You Can Dance’ season 12 spoilers: tWitch, Travis Wall set to mentor
Just in case you were wondering what other twists the producers for “So You Think You Can Dance” have in mind for this season, we’ve now learned another one of them: Stephen “tWitch” Boss and Travis Wall are going to be joining the show in a mentoring capacity.
These two former contestants, arguably two of the most famous to ever appear, are each going to be helping a specific group of dancers from Vegas Week on. (The theme for the season is “Stage vs. Street.”) tWitch will help out the street dancers, whereas Wall will help out the stage dancers. While the show has this new gimmicky name, the truth here is that we really don’t think the show is necessarily going to be that different. We’re still going to have twenty dancers from all walks of life, and they will have to perform a variety of different dances to win the title.
The show is still trying to establish itself once again as a force to be reckoned with, and that requires apparently a fresh coat of paint. There have only been a select few changes over the years, but there were some big ones this time with removing Mary Murphy from the panel, and ultimately replacing her with Paula Abdul and also Jason Derulo. Admittedly, we are still not altogether sure how we feel about the majority of this.
This new season will premiere on Monday, June 1, which is another decision we admittedly are not in love with. Why throw the show up against “The Bachelorette,” a show you know is going to be a huge competitor in just about every way?
