‘Glee’ season 6: Lea Michele, Emma Roberts start work on ‘Scream Queens’
Clearly, there is very little rest if you’re switching TV shows. It was only a matter of a couple of weeks ago that “Glee” officially wrapped filming after six seasons on the air, and this weekend, longtime series star Lea Michele began the next chapter of her career: Getting to film the new Ryan Murphy horror adaptation “Scream Queens.”
Michele posted on Twitter that Saturday was her first day working on the show, and that is surprising in itself. After all, how many shows start work on a Saturday? There may be some schedule quirks at play here, since you’ve got a pretty enormous cast that you are dealing with here, and it was changing even up to the last minute. We just learned that Joe Manganiello, for example, was forced to drop out due to conflicts promoting “Magic Mike XXL” overseas.
“Scream Queens” does still have a very impressive cast, given that you have “American Horror Story” major player Emma Roberts alongside “Little Miss Sunshine” star Abigail Breslin, legendary actress Jamie Lee Curtis, Keke Palmer, and even a recurring role from Ariana Grande. Murphy proves yet again to be the casting master.
We imagine that one of the reasons for the early filming for the first episode is to ensure that there is time to make some necessary tweaks at the request of the network. This is around the time that all pilots film, though this is one of the few to already have a commitment from Fox to make it on the air.
