‘The Dovekeepers’ video: Cote de Pablo on miniseries, CBS return
Come Tuesday, March 31, you are finally going to see more of Cote de Pablo on TV! As for where you are going to see her, it is a network you should be very familiar with already: CBS. The two-night event “The Dovekeepers” is going to be a fascinating retelling of the Seine of Masala, and she is one of the perfect people to draw in viewers. She’s a popular star already thanks to “NCIS,” and in the video below, she admits to being quite a big fan of the source material.
Cote also explains in this video her desire to always wear a “long, flowing wig,” doing a period piece, and filming somewhere so far away in Malta. It’s a beautiful place, and this is an incredible story about powerful characters doing what they can for survival. In the process, there may also be a little bit of romance to go along with it.
While this video does focus mostly on “The Dovekeepers,” it does not shy away from the fact that Cote is famous for playing Ziva. She talks about how many fans still approach her saying that they miss her on the show, and executive producer Roma Downey discusses how fans of “NCIS” will get a chance to watch her immediately after a new episode of that show airs on that same day.
As for the future of Ziva, we’ve always said that it is a possibility, and this video is further proof of that. If there was some terribly bad blood out there, we would imagine that it would not be spoken about so extensively here.
One last thing: Can we talk about Mark Burnett’s beard? That is getting close to becoming a wonder of the world.

It is so clear since Cote left NCIS, that the magical interactions between she and Michael Weatherly distracted viewers from gapping plot holes, flat chemistry, and recylcled plot and dialogue. They were so much fun to watch, that we didnt notice some of the big problems with trhe show, which are either worse, or more obvious now. Her presence in “that other show” kept us from noticing mwhat is now apparent. She is wonderful, talented, warm, funny and I am so looking forward to seeing the amazing story od this amazing documented, historical (NOT “biblical”) event, through the eyes of these fictionalized characters. Hurrah to CBS for bringing Cote back, and for bringing us a story like The Dovekeepers. I miss how it used to feel watching when she was on!
So tired of Zombies, Crimes of the Week, and Cartoon characters. Looking forward to seeing historical fiction. Always enjoyed NCIS, NOT as a Crime of the Week, but as a character driven show wrapped inside a law enforcement series.
Welcome Back to our screens Cote!

For me it’s clear I want her see as regular. Not as guest. She don’t deserved it to appear like other from time to time. #NoClonesNoClownsNoLightpoles.

You want her back on the show you openly bash now? She doesn’t deserve to be back on that show at all in my opinion but that’s another story.

She chose to not accept the contract that was offered. WE do not know what she asked, and which side was unreasonable. But it is clear that the contractual issue was not the monetary, but other factors. The network is working very hard to promote her, and they know more about what happened in negotiations. CBS obviously values her and does not see Cote as undeserving or as the bad guy in this.

I have missed Cote as Ziva on NCIS and I loved the book The Dovekeepers. Looking forward to seeing Cote as Shirah in this limited event but I sure do hope Ziva returns after the Dovekeepers airs.

I, too, am counting down the days for the Dovekeepers. I have missed Ziva and the talent of Cote de Pablo on NCIS. She has a gift for portraying a wide range of emotions. Sometimes I think that is why some people didn’t like the character, Ziva. Ziva was a very complex person. For some the complexity and conflicting emotions were off putting. I have also read the Dovekeepers, a work of historical fiction. The characters are also complex and emotionally conflicted. Some people will not like the story because they prefer the idyllic to the reality it portrays. The siege of Masada was a tragic event in human history. It reminds me of the tragic events of our modern world. History continues to repeat itself.

I can’t wait to see Cote in this new role that will allow her to show her acting skills. I remember clearly when NCIS episode Shabbat Shalom aired, arguably every critic praise her performance. The Dovekeepers is a great book, full of drama and romance, and I’m sure Cote will be great in the tv miniseries.

I had the opportunity of reading the book knowing Cote de Pablo was
joining the cast of the Mini Series and as my reading was advancing I was
imagining those emotional scenes. I was so intrigued because from of her work
in NCIS, I’ve noticed how well she can manage emotional scenes, very touching
moments as well as showing how strong she can make the character. I’m so happy
that the premiere is right around the corner, I’ve missed her very much in the
show and in my very humble opinion, and she was a key piece of the cast. Her absence
is very much noticed and to be able to watch her in a different role makes me
realize how talented she is. I’ve seen the promo and can’t wait to actually
watch the whole mini-series, hope she peeks other jobs just to be able to appreciate
more her talent. I also hope at some point CBS offers her to get back to NCIS,
for some guest appearances or better to become again a regular, that would be
the best thing for the show, for her fans and of course for me.

Really excited to see Cote back at CBS and of course, can’t wait to see her in The Dovekeepers along with Rachel, Kathryn, Diego and other cast. The book is so good and I know Roma & Mark will do justice to the history of Masada.

What I have seen so far in the promos, doesn’t impress me at all. I wish it would have been different but that’s the way it is. I always thought she was an overrated actress after watching her other works she did before NCIS. When she joined the show her acting was ok but the more storylines she got, the more I saw that she was nothing but overrated. She hasn’t been able to carry the huge and at times, heavy and emotional storylines in my opinion. And the Stunts Ziva did started to look real when Cote got her stuntdouble. Sorry but that’s my opinion. I know she is very loved but I just cannot see it.

You are welcome to your opinion. I have always been a fan of Cote de Pablo. I was always touched by her emotional scenes on the NCIS, especially the episode where she had to tell Gibbs what happened to her brother in his basement to help him regain his memory. She had me completely after that episode and I can’t waite to see her in this because I have heard there are many emotional scenes in this coming from her. It’s a TV mini series so I’m not expecting an academy award performance from her but it still looks intense and good, Nonetheless. I respect your opinion and appreciate you being civil and not obnoxious like many people out there who don’t agree with her fans.

I agree with Dennis. The more drama Ms. de Pablo got (and by the end the show was pretty much a vehicle for Ziva drama) the less varied her acting became. I don’t know why this article is included in a site about NCIS except that this is obviously the only way CBS thinks that they’ll get viewers to this mini series. The placement of it after an NCIS episode seems a rather blatant plea. I personally have no plans to watch. It looks very Hollywood with overly glamorous made up actresses and no doubt featuring steamy bedroom scenes. In other words – kind of cheesy and overly sensationalized.

I thought she was terrific in her big story arcs. Certainly a million times better than the new girl.

The “new girl” has a name – Ellie. And she never had any big storylines so far so comparing them is simply not working.

Cote bowled us over in her first 10 minutes onscreen as Ziva in her very first appreance. Ellie has been there nearly as long as Kate was and has still done nothing impressive, and remains dull and uninteresting. The character was poorly crafted, it is not all the actresses fault. Regardless, the character of Ellie has minimal entertainment value, and is just not fun to watch.

Yes, yes, and yes!! Can’t waite to see this. We are getting closer to it airing soon and people who have seen it live have great things to say about it. I will never reject to her making a guest appearance on NCIS and I hope it’s soon. Her character has always brought in action and that is something I think the show is lacking lately. Hoping it’s part of the big finale we are supposed to be getting. That would be PERFECT. :)
