‘Girls’ season 4 finale spoilers: Adam’s sister gives birth; Ray vs. Desi finally happens

While “Girls” season 3 may have run for twelve episodes, this time around the story is ending a little sooner. Who knows why Lena Dunham and HBO opted for ten episodes this season; maybe this works better for their schedule, or she realized that she is more fulfilled doing a smaller order and opening herself up to other ventures.

Regardless, the series has quite a few loose ends to tie up across the board next week, including some stories that we’ve barely seen, such as Caroline and Laird expecting a child together. Given that “Home Birth” is this episode’s title, it is fair to say that they are going to be involved here almost from start to finish. “Hannah, Adam and Jessa each try to convince Caroline (Gaby Hoffman) and Laird (Jon Glaser) to forgo their planned home birth. Shoshanna faces a crucial decision when presented with a unique job opportunity. After Marnie and Desi’s meeting with a record label exec, Ray lets Desi know what he really thinks of him.”

One thing we think that the show has done a pretty wonderful job at so far this season is making sure that we know that there is nothing altogether black and white regarding Marnie, Ray, and Shoshanna. While there are elements of a love triangle here, they are not done in an irritating way to remind you of some sort of terrible romantic comedy.
