‘Madam Secretary’ spoilers: Can Tea Leoni’s Elizabeth stop a hostage crisis?

Over the course of the entire first season, Elizabeth McCord of “Madam Secretary” has been able to successfully prove that she can handle almost any crisis that is thrown in her direction. With that being said, there are some major ones that are still to come. Finding out that a congressman is captured by a cult could be one of her biggest struggles to date. Not only is this a situation of complex international relations, but you almost must deal with a religious aspect at the same time. That’s a lot to juggle, since you never want to run the risk of ticking someone off.

This is going to be the story for “The Time Is at Hand,” the upcoming installment of the show airing on Sunday, March 29. CBS released the synopsis earlier this month, and you can take a look at that right now below:

“While Elizabeth seeks a diplomatic solution to a doomsday cult in Bolivia, a congressman attempting to negotiate with its leader is taken hostage. Meanwhile, Elizabeth and Henry meet Stevie’s much older boyfriend.”

By the end of this episode, we’re hoping going to be able to see this particular story come to a close. However, we imagine that Tea Leoni’s character could in theory be dealing with Stevie and that story a while longer. Love interests are not necessarily the sort of thing to disappear quickly from a series.
