While Wednesday night marks the return of “Supernatural” with “The Things They Carried,” why not take a quick at what lies ahead after that? Come March 25, the CW series will air an episode entitled “Paint It Black” that takes Sam and Dean Winchester inside the world of the church, as they start to suspect that a priest may be responsible in part for a series of bizarre deaths. The only thing that these victims have in common, other than connections to a church, is that they all died in a similar way: By the slow disembowelment of some of their limbs. Gross.
Luckily, the first photo above from this episode is hardly grisly. Instead, it is Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles in suits walking down a flight of stairs. You’re welcome, world! We’re always a fan of undercover Winchesters, mostly because these sort of stories remind us so much of the early days of the show.
What is not pictured here is the other important story of this episode, which revolves around Rowena learning whether or not she can practice magic again. This is something that is going to hold some pretty huge implications on the remainder of the season, and we will have to watch pretty closely to see what happened there.
Just one last reminder to close this off: We are moving to Wednesdays this coming week! Due to the premiere of “iZombie,” the show is going to be moving behind “Arrow.” This shouldn’t really impact ratings (it is pretty independent of a lead-in); instead, it will mostly just make a mark on your viewing schedule.
