‘Fashion Police’: Kathy Griffin exiting days after Kelly Osbourne does same thing

Fashion Police -Remember all of that time and money that E! spent on marketing “Fashion Police” with its all-new panel? Well, almost all of that has now officially gone down the toilet. Today, Kathy Griffin announced that she is leaving the series after just appearing in seven episodes of the show. She joined the show after the death of Joan Rivers, and it was believed that she was going to be able to carry the torch effectively.

However, what Griffin apparently realized is that there was something about this show that made her feel sick to her stomach. Rather than continuing to be a part of what is often just a festival of criticizing people for what they look like, she made the elaborate post on Twitter to better explain why she is leaving … and to also promote her other stuff at the same time. Cannot really blame her there.

This has been a very rough few weeks for the show. Kelly Osbourne already exited following some controversial comments co-host Giuliana Rancic made about Zendaya, and Griffin said recently that she would not have made those comments, regardless of her intent, if she was in her shoes. Ironically, Rancic (who did later apologize for her remarks) is still a part of the series.

“Fashion Police” is still expected to return with Rancic and Brad Goreski later this month, and the irony here is that all of the drama will probably lead to better ratings. We’re just not sure if there is going to be any staying power now.
