‘Homeland’ season 5 spoilers: One more progress report as writing continues
This has shown to be a busy week for “Homeland,” if for no other reason than that the show had its panel at PaleyFest, and at the same time, the writing process is still going strong for the fifth season. (Can you believe we’re already this far into the show’s run?)
If you missed it, the showrunners revealed at the Paley Center event that we’re going to be seeing a brand-new setting for season 5, and to go along with that, Carrie’s not even in the CIA anymore! We’re going to learn what has transpired with her, and also whether or not there will be an event or two that cause her to get roped back in. How else do you manage to establish the world of this show without getting the gang back together? It would certainly be difficult.
For another progress report, just take a look at what executive producer Meredith Stiehm had to say in a chat with E! News:
“We have started figuring out the first couple of episodes. We know where we’re going to be located and we’re creating new characters … There’s going to be a couple years’ time jump, so we’re going to find Carrie and all of them in a new time and place.”
While we’re hopeful that Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin, and Rupert Friend will all be around, hopefully there will be another great group of people around them. This is what made season 4 so intriguing for the most part; you had a heap of newcomers, but the show figured out a way to make almost all of them interesting in a short amount of time.
We will have further “Homeland” news throughout the hiatus, so be on the lookout for it! Also, sign up today if you want to get some other TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: Showtime.)
