‘American Idol XIV’ results: Were Mark Andrew, Alexis Gomez, Adanna Duru, Loren Lott eliminated?

American Idol -It’s rough to be eliminated right before the “American Idol” top 12. Sure, it’s an achievement to get this far, but the reality here still is that only one person in the end gets the grand prize. The rest are going to be eliminated at some point along the way.

When we are looking at the artists sent home this week, the majority of them fail to come as a shock. For example, Mark Andrew may have been a great singer, but he didn’t have that huge spark of personality the show needs. Meanwhile, Loren Lott was inconsistent, and Alexis Gomez struggled mightily with her final song during Motown Week. This is a rare occasion of someone with the last performance spot the week before went home.

The mild surprise to us was Adam Ezegelian going home over Daniel Seavey, who didn’t even need a wild-card spot. This is a guy who hasn’t been perfect, but was much better last week. Also, he’s physically distinctive, and we thought that would play into his advantage more than it did with the public vote.

Save for maybe Daniel, the rest of the top 12 are people we can sign off on. Thank goodness that the judges were there to save Adanna Duru and Quentin Alexander, who had no business being in danger at all.

Tomorrow night, there is going to be another results / performance show airing on Fox. There will be new performances then, which is why we had repeats of auditions songs on the show tonight.
