‘The Walking Dead’ spin-off spoilers: First photo featuring Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens

Walking Dead -This is turning out to be quite the week for AMC and their upcoming spin-off for “The Walking Dead.” While we may not have a title for the show just yet, we can at least present to you now one of the first photos of two of our main characters.

In this attached image, you can see Kim Dickens and Cliff Curtis both with different looks of sorrow on their faces, likely realizing just how screwed they truly are. Curtis is playing a divorced teacher, while Dickens is a guidance counselor; through this show, these two will experience some of the earliest days of the zombie apocalypse. This series, executive produced by Robert Kirkman, has deliberately been very mysterious throughout production. It is still not clear just how many walkers we will see, and if there is any obvious or discreet connection to the flagship series featuring Rick Grimes and company.

What we do know is that AMC has a heck of a lot of faith in this show, opting to order it for two seasons this season, while also announcing that it will premiere in the late summer. Launching the show without any support from “The Walking Dead” proper is a bold move. If you were to ask us previously, we would have said that the show could air as a bridge between the first and second halves of the flagship program. This actually makes more sense, given that there may be a whole between the end of “Halt and Catch Fire” and the start of “The Walking Dead” season 6.

The first season will only run for six weeks, but that may be enough to have you enticed.

Does this photo make you any more excited about this show, or is it hard to by being so completely unrevealing? Let us know how you feel in the comments, and head over here to have some other TV news sent to you via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: AMC.)
