‘The Bachelor’ finale review: Did Chris Soules propose to Becca Tilley or Whitney Bischoff?

Tonight, “The Bachelor” promised something that would completely shock you. We have to say that at least through the first 80 minutes of this bloated finale episode, we were not “shocked” at all by anything that happened. Becca Tilley and Whitney Bischoff both met Chris Soules’ families, and the narrative stayed that Becca was almost the elusive temptation for Chris. She was not sure if she loved him in the right way just yet, and there was a huge amount of uncertainty there. Meanwhile, Whitney was more of the safe choice.

Ultimately, there was a time when Chris had to make a decision between the two, but it did not come until after he had final dates, and we heard him make a series of confessionals expressing some uncertainty about what he wanted to do. Who did he pick? Well, the moment we saw Becca get out of the limousine first, we felt like we knew. The person who arrives first always gets picked, right? Typically, that is the case.

As it turns out, it was here. We applaud Becca for being “open and honest” as she was, and this may be the most peaceful spit at the finale we’ve ever seen. She wasn’t fully ready, but she was extremely grateful to Chris. He seemed to be freaking out about it more than she was! The best part of all of this was that horrifying look Chris gave to his tractor after he sent Becca home.

So Whitney got that proposal, he told her that he loved her, and it was adorable. She really couldn’t keep it together, and that is part of what made it so wonderful. The proposal happening! We’ll have to wait and see what’s happened since the show, but this was a lovely way to end the finale.
