‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ ‘MasterChef’ premiere dates unveiled by Fox
You already know what is coming up on Fox the rest of the spring, but how about the summer? Luckily, we have some more news from the network on some upcoming premiere dates for the months ahead.
Let’s start with “So You Can Think You Can Dance,” which is going to be coming up on Monday, June 1 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. This is a different night and challenge for the show, given that “The Bachelorette” is also a reality audience. The advance we suppose is that you get away from “Big Brother,” but is this really an apples-to-oranges sort of move? It feels like it for now.
Now, we turn to “MasterChef.” Christina Tosi will make her official debut as judge on the show’s two-hour premiere Wednesday, May 20 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. We wonder why the show is choosing to start that early, since you are basically still in May sweeps at that point and likely competing against the “Survivor” finale. Seems somewhat questionable when you really start to think about it.
For those extremely curious about another show coming up on Fox, the revival of “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” returns on Tuesday, May 26. We feel like this is a show that could do all right now that it is back in a once-a-week format. One of the issues that we had with the old version is that, like with many other game shows of the past 20 years, it was beaten into the ground. This is a second chance!
With that being said, the first two shows are what we will be likely covered extensively here on CarterMatt.
