‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8, episode 18 video: Saying goodbye to Howard’s mother

While “The Big Bang Theory” did not have a formal funeral episode for the character of Howard’s mom, they have shown a few small tributes to her already. The biggest one of all is coming during Thursday night’s new episode.

The story of this episode is ultimately simple enough: Watching the entire cast come together, and say goodbye to a woman who has been a huge part of the series for so long. We already miss the character, and obviously the characters feel the same way. They are going to be back at her old house, and they will have one last dinner in her honor there. We’re still not sure if we are going to see a whole lot more of the show in this particular setting, but we will figure that out soon enough.

The one thing we do know is that this episode is going to be emotional. The promo below promises that, even if it does imply that there are going to be at least a few laughs here and there in the process. Maybe this is going to be one of those “laugh through the tears” sort of story where you can find a way to comfort even in the hardest times. This is one of the things that the show does excel at, and it is escapism in its purest form. That’s why so many people all turn to this series in the first place in their own hard times.

We’re not going to place any individual expectations on this particular half-hour. Let’s just prepare for the journey that comes.
