ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: Tony Goldwyn, Bellamy Young predict Olivia – Fitz drama

Without Olivia and Fitz, what is “Scandal“? The simple answer is “a show that is not anywhere near as scandalous.” The drama between these two is one of the reasons that this show has such a fan following. They’re always going to be linked to one another, even if it is still not entirely clear if the two are actually going to be getting together in the near future. We can only hope, right?

Despite the two being in a not-so-great place right now, Tony Goldwyn still believes that there is definitely more to come for the couple. After all, he did just say the following in a new interview with TV Guide on the subject:

“I don’t know how Fitz survives without fighting for Olivia. She’s essential to his existence, so, yeah, he’s not going to be deterred.”

Despite playing a character in Mellie who is the third wheel in this romance, Bellamy Young has made her support of Olitz pretty clear over the years. Her further comments to the publication are another reflection of that:

“I hope that we’re miserable forever. As long as Shonda wants to write the show, I want Fitz in love with Olivia and I want it to be uncomfortable.”

While what Young says here is funny, it does bring you back to what is the central conceit of the show. You have to find a way to keep things between the two characters exciting. Eventually, we do want to see Fitz finally just decide that enough is enough and go to be with her, but you have to sell that properly. After all, we feel like him with Olivia will only be the beginning of the drama. Don’t you think these two will have a billion challenges as a couple?
