‘The Good Wife’ season 6 spoilers: Questions over Archie Panjabi’s Kalinda
“The Good Wife” was under a heavy microscope at its PaleyFest panel on Saturday night, but to us, what may be the most interesting thing is what was not really said during the panel: Archie Panjabi seemingly did not even know it was happening.
The actress made this revelation clear on Twitter earlier this week, and it just seems entirely bizarre that she would not be invited to the panel for her final season of the show. This is a woman who won an Emmy for the show! The entire treatment of Kalinda the past few years has been odd, just as it has been two seasons since she and Julianna Margulies have shared a scene. This may be changing at some point moving forward, at least based on what executive producer Robert King told the audience last night:
“Some of our favorite moments in the first two years were their drinking scenes together and the friendship that was there … [However,] we always bumped up against the reality of what would really happen if one of your friends slept with your spouse.”
Obviously, King has a very good point here, given that it is not exactly easy to imagine that someone would want to go hang out with an old friend again under those circumstances. It doesn’t make matters any less difficult.
King also told an audience member at the panel that he was open to making a spin-off show for “The Good Wife,” so we’ll go ahead and make our pitch very clear: Elsbeth. That is all. Carrie Preston’s now free for more work, and you can build a whole show around her.

Margulies and Panjabi had a personal falling out. Presumably because Panjabi took too much of the spotlight from Margulies on the show.
