‘Saturday Night Live’: Where’s the host announcement, date for next episode?
Tonight, “Saturday Night Live” tried to get super with a show hosted by Chris Hemsworth. Whether or not it was actually super is something that will probably be debated by most of the internet over the next 48 hours.
What we can tell you in this spot is … well, not much. Why is it news that no host, musical guest, or air date for the next episode were announced tonight? The simple answer is that this is something that the show quite frankly does not do. It’s news that there is no news. We’ve seen the show not announce their next host before in-season, but this is the first time we can think of where there was not even a date revealed for the next installment. Our guess is that the reason for this is you’ll be waiting for a while.
Ultimately, “SNL” may need a chance to recharge the batteries a little bit. They had the 40th anniversary special recently, and that was a huge undertaking. There always tends to be a hiatus in March, and that’s why we wouldn’t be shocked if it is only April when there are new episodes again. Can Amy Poehler host one of them? Please? That’s just our hope.
Don’t worry: As soon as there is some more news related to the show, we’ll have it for you here. We’re mostly just shocked tonight that NBC couldn’t even figure out when they wanted the show to come back on the air.
