‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 6 spoilers: Some early casting scoop!

It may be somewhat unorthodox, but it’s still happening: We’ve got some of our first news now on “Rizzoli & Isles” season 6, and we have it even before the fifth season comes to a close officially.

Per a new report from Entertainment Weekly, former “24: Live Another Day” actor Adam Sinclair has been cast in a recurring role as Kent Drake on the series. He is an assistant medical examiner who works within the office of Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander). He quickly becomes a favorite of hers, as well, mostly because of all of the skills he brings to the table. What he is a bit more private about is his personal life.

Is it possible that this man becomes a love interest of sorts for the character? Sure, but we’d file that in the “too early to tell” category. It is probably not fair to automatically label every single new addition to a show as a romantic possibility, just because they are a co-worker and are in theory available. Sometimes, characters can also become great friends.

There are still some stories left to tell on the TNT series this season, but the reason that we are getting some early casting intel is fairly simple: Due to the complicated way in which these shows come on the air, filming has to begin for “Rizzoli & Isles” season 6 in the spring. The show comes back to the network this summer with new episodes, which will almost certainly be broken up in the same sort of way. After all, this is what we have grown accustomed to seeing.
