‘Hawaii Five-0′ season 5, episode 19 review: Jerry faces trouble, Steve in a shootout

JerryLast week was a really heavy episode of “Hawaii Five-0” and a few of our main storylines this season were pushed forward, but if you were hoping that we would have even more movement on them this week you’re going to be a little disappointed.

All Steve wanted was a nice relaxing haircut and a have to try to shake off what happened with his mom, but instead what he got was an insane shoot out with gangsters at his barber shop. Calling for back up might’ve been an option, but no one in the shop seems to have a cell phone, including the young man that the gangsters want. After much debate, a few failed escape attempts and a dead cop they are able to escape the shop and get to safety. Ready for the twist? The boy they saved turns out to be the son of the gangster and this boy is doing horrible, unspeakable things to kids in the neighborhood and the gangsters (and his father) were trying to stop him. Eventually he is stopped with the help of Steve and the boys father.

Also, it’s been a while since we’ve had a story involving our man Jerry, but when we caught up with him this week he was in a police line up getting called out by a witness as the man responsible for  a string of home invasions. The real problem of it all is that he is completely innocent and stood in the line up as a favor to the 5-0. Of course eventually they find a way to clear Jerry and they find the man that actually did the crimes and he doesn’t really look like Jerry at all outside of the long curly hair.

With the death of Danny’s brother we’ve had a few weeks this season where he hasn’t been around and he wasn’t around tonight either. We also miss him when there’s a Steve-centric episode because their banter is always the highlight of our week. Episode grade: C
