‘Shark Tank’ video: BedRyder faces tough test from Kevin O’Leary

In theory, we like the general idea of BedRyder. After all, if there is one frequent complaint that many have about pickup trucks, it is that it is not exactly easy to haul many of your friends around in them, at least in a legal manner.

Unfortunately, we’re still not sure that this product will receive an investment on “Shark Tank,” even if it does fill a need. As Kevin O’Leary says in the sneak peek below, this product could face all sorts of litigation in the wrong circumstance. While it may have been tested many times over for safety, that doesn’t quite mean that people will nitpick it in the event something goes wrong. Anytime that you are effectively hauling people around in the back of your pickup truck, there is always going to be a question or two about it. Also, There are certain age restrictions on who can even ride in a cargo space depending on what state you live in. These are a lot of issues that an investor would have to keep track of.

Ultimately, this business is probably best served as a small company catering to a group of people in the south who love their trucks, and have a little more freedom away from the big city. We’re not sure that a shark would even help the company much if one was on board.
