‘The Big Bang Theory’ tributes Leonard Nimoy with title card

Big Bang Theory -We were curious to see how “The Big Bang Theory” was going to be able to honor the late Leonard Nimoy after Thursday night’s new episode. They were a show where his presence loomed very large. One of the most memorable moments in show history was when Penny gave Sheldon a napkin that contained his DNA. Not only that, but he later lent his voice to an episode, where Sheldon had a conversation with a Mr. Spock action figure.

At the conclusion of Thursday night’s new episode, there was a small photo tribute to Nimoy in the place of the typical Chuck Lorre title card. It was simple, but expressed just how much he meant to the writers, producers, cast, and everyone else on the show. This was ultimately all that the show had time to do for Thursday night, given that this episode was filmed weeks ago.

We do wonder eventually how the show will choose to write in the death of the character. After all, you would assume that it would happen eventually, since he was a huge inspiration for Sheldon Cooper and there does seem to be so much affection for him. The issue of course will come in how you do it, since this is a season where death has already played a role to a certain extent. After all, you’ve already seen the story regarding the death of Mrs. Wolowitz, and that is going to carry over into next week.

Somehow, we’ll sure that they will figure it out, and it will make all who knew and loved Mr. Nimoy smile. Live long and prosper, dear friends.
