‘Glee’ season 6, episode 10 video: Darren Criss talks original song ‘Rise’

Blaine -Friday night, we’re getting more than just a standard episode of “Glee.” We’re getting a chance to see Darren Criss’ creative talent flourish in a way that we haven’t quite seen it before on the show. Fans of him away from TV know already that he’s a super-talented writer, but now one of his contributions in “Rise” is going to be featured on Friday night’s “The Rise and Fall of Sue Sylvester.”

In the sneak peek below, you can get a chance to actually see what some of the recording process for a song is really like. Darren starts it standing outside of a very famous building that he cannot say on camera for “legal reasons” (just look up famous record building in Los Angeles online, you’ll see it), and he takes you inside to show you what are the individual elements put into the recording of a song. It’s a long process, but one that is very rewarding in the end.

After all, at the end of the video you get a chance to really see both the New Directions and the Warblers performing the song together. Why the Warblers? The simple answer is that Dalton Academy burned down, and they are desperately seeking a new home.

Ultimately, think of this episode as a chance to really see more of the McKinley loose ends of the series tied up. We feel like the show is building for something different and special in the final two episodes, and they want to get some other things out of the way first.
