‘Bates Motel’ season 3: New (creepy) photo of Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga

We are now just a matter of days away from the “Bates Motel” season 3 premiere, and with that in mind, what better time than right now to share one of the latest promotional photos released by A&E? This show has established quite the reputation for being creepy, and it should not come as any surprise at all that this new image attached here furthers that along. We have Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and Norma (Vera Farmiga) acting like they are completely normal people, but all you have to do is look into their faces to realize that this is not even remotely the case.

Just look at the faces of these two characters. When you look at Norman, this is a guy who you can tell from the eyes alone that he is not up to no good, and he is the person in the real position of power here. Meanwhile, Norma appears terrified, almost like she is in this pose because she has to. We like to imagine who is the fictional photographer who is forcing these two to stand in such a way, even though we know we probably should not be doing that.

One of the themes of the coming season is Norman’s further descent into madness, and Norma’s own response to that. Will she be receptive to what is going on, or somehow, manage to make it worse? Given her own set of issues, both are very well possible.
