‘Shahs of Sunset’ season 4, episode 1 review: Mike’s drunk antics, MJ’s in love
It has been a while since we had new episodes of “Shahs of Sunset” (you can thank the editor’s strike for that), but finally season 4 has arrived and boy did it ever start with a bang.
GG: Let’s start with our girl GG since we love her too much. She was supposed to be moving into a new apartment with her boyfriend, but they broke up 2 days before that was going to happen, leaving GG single with a new place all to herself – well herself and a cat that hates everyone.
Mike: He is ready to propose to Jessica after all these years and when you see the ring you know he means serious business. Will he get to propose to her before she finally has enough of his drunk antics and leaves him?
Reza: Our boy Reza and Adam are still going strong and have bought a new condo together. They are also in wedding planning mode and have revealed that MJ will be Reza’s best woman and Asa will be Adam’s. We hope they decide to televise their wedding!
MJ: She is looking good and feeling great as she enjoys a new relationship with a man named Charlie. They are very obviously in love and the age difference of 10 years means nothing (as it should be). It’s the healthiest we’ve ever seen MJ and it makes us excited to see her journey this season.
Asa: She is still being a Persian pop priestess and draping herself in gold, but she is also working hard to get her parents home renovated. They will be moving into her place for a while while she tears their house apart and give them a fresh new look.
Now that we are all caught up with the cast let’s get into the drama… because you knew there would be. Lily is no longer part of the show, which makes a lot of sense since she never really fit in with the lifestyle of the other cast members and we have a new woman (a friend of GG’s) named Asifa. She’s smart, beautiful, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Her boyfriend Bobby has a history with Mike (and it’s a fairly troubled one) so as the group celebrates the New Year (and gets drunker and drunker) Mike picks a fight with Bobby that turns up very quickly. It ends up with Mike stealing Bobby’s jacket, Asifa fighting for her man and Jessica getting sick of Mike’s drunk drama.
It was great to catch up with the crew and see where everyone is at now since the last time we saw them and we are excited to see what Asifa is going to bring to the table since Lily really didn’t bring much to the group or the show. Episode grade: B+
