‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4, episode 12 preview: Emma, Regina, and sadness

In just a matter of a few short hours, “Once Upon a Time” season 4 will be back upon us on ABC, and based on the latest sneak peek below, there may be many emotional moments that occur.

In the early going, at least the majority of them for Regina are going to revolve around one topic above all else: Robin Hood. Specifically, we are talking here in terms of her lamenting the departure of her love, who she willingly opted to send packing outside of Storybrooke at the end of the fall season. She wanted the best for him and his family, and that is a truly noble act. Unfortunately for her, it is also a heartbreaking one. She shows Emma Swan a page from the storybook below, with was something that she used to cling to as hope that maybe, she was not entirely destined to have an ending full of mystery.

There is obviously sorrow in this preview, but for those who are Outlaw Queen ‘shippers, do not fear: There will be some hope on the horizon at some point this season. Specifically, we are talking in reference to the fact that we are going to have an opportunity to see Sean Maguire back in some form as this character by the end of the season. Maybe it will revolve mostly around his life outside of the town, but we really cannot see him away from Storybrooke forever. In all honesty, we are somewhat surprised that it was Michael Socha who became a series regular over him, mostly because we still have no clue what the Knave’s endgame for this season is going to be.
